This recall involves 1023E, 1025R and 2025R Compact Utility Tractors with the model number and "John Deere" printed on the hood. The recalled tractors are green and yellow, and were sold with both opened and closed operator stations. The serial numbers of tractors included in this recall can be found at www.deere.com. Click on "Parts & Service" and scroll to "Recall" or go to www.deere.com/en/parts-and-service/recall-information/. The serial number is located on the frame, on the front right side of the tractor, near the engine.
Known Issues
Two-part PTO shaft with splined connection became damaged when the mower deck gearbox was loose due to missing bolts, causing the shafts to bind. The splined ends of both shaft sections were chewed up and no longer connect properly. Parts are obsolete and replacement is unavailable.
I bought a L145 at Lowe’s. The second summer I owned this junk, most of the paint had fallen of in large chunks, transmission is shot completely and I have replaced both front axles. The John Deere LA145 has done a great job keeping 2 acres mowed. Routine maintenance done on schedule. Did have to replace starter and a tire. The deck has bee been reinforced due to SC sandy yards. The available wagon, sweeper, and dethatcher are helpful.
