TLDR; engine is knocking, dealer says it’s normal. Looking for feedback from Kioti owners. Video of engine running link at end of post. Hey guys I have a Kioti CK2610 with 29 hours on it. Trying to sell it and have a buyer interested who came to pick it up and put the sale on hold due to the knocking sound the engine makes. I’ve heard the knocking since the tractor was delivered brand new and I’ve never had any issues with it. Buyer says it’s not a normal sound he’s heard on his previous non-Kioti tractors but isn’t ruling out that it’s a normal Kioti sounding engine. We took a video (link below) of the engine running which I played for the service manager. They told me pretty much all Kiotis sound like that, but I’ve listened to dozens of other videos on YouTube since Sunday and I’m not hearing that noise at all. The buyer is going to get to his local dealership (he’s out of state) to test drive a new one and see what it sounds like and is willing to continue the purchase of theirs sounds similar, but he’s definitely got me concerned that there may be something wrong with my brand new tractor. Looking for feedback from other Kioti owners, preferably with the same engine. Do your tractor sound like this? If not, what should I be looking for or telling the dealer to look for. I was very unhappy with the way they brushed off my concerns but I know nothing about diesels or engines in particular, which is partly why I’m selling it before I run it into the ground. I’m not qualified to maintain it and I can no longer afford paying $250 transport fee for ever service this thing needs. https://youtu.be/uhy0VgLDeT0
We have a Kioti CK2610H that is a few years old and has had a fuel system problem since new. The tractor will bog down and shut off sporadically. It can run for days or weeks without issue and suddenly it’s like it’s not getting any fuel. It’s been to two different dealers which have both diagnosed it with different issues and their repairs seemed to temporarily resolve the problem but it always comes back. The first said it was just bad diesel, drained tank, replaced filter, sent it home and it worked for a few weeks before the issue happened again. 2nd time they told us they found a small crack in one of the hard fuel lines which was letting air in, replaced, everything was good for a few weeks. Last time they had it for a week and claimed they couldn’t reproduce the issue. Since then I’ve replaced the fuel pump and filter and it’ll run fine for a few days and then act up again. Last time it died, I noticed the primer pump on top of the filter was getting sucked down. Opening the bleeder valve releases some air and the primer pump goes back up. I watched a video of someone changing the filter and opening the bleeder and pumping the primer until diesel comes out the bleeder valve. When I do this, I can never get diesel to come out. You can pump it for minutes but it never seems to purge the whole system. I’m thinking someone is wrong with the primer or bleeder valve that doesn’t let me get all of the air out of the system. Any thoughts?
I have a Kioti ck2610 with manual transmission - owned less then 1 month. This weekend was the first time I tried it with the bush-hog and I have a question about shifting. I found when I was running the pto I could half depress the clutch enough to stop the tractor but not the pto movement and shift. This seemed to work well for me, but later I noticed the owners manual said to fully depress while shifting or you may damage the tractor. Should I be fully depressing the clutch and stoping both the tractor and pto before shifting speeds or ranges? I prefer no stopping the pto because it has to regain momentum every time it starts again.
